South Carolina currently has over 830 Megawatts of solar panels installed.
This amount of solar has been installed largely due to the Federal tax credit of 26 percent in 2020 and 22% in 2021, which is paired with a state tax incentive of 25 percent*. That means 51 percent of the total cost of a solar array can be recouped through state and federal tax incentives.
The volume of solar being installed has helped to drive prices down throughout the state by 32 percent over the past 5 years!
